God's love . . .

  • Prayers for the week

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit, fill us anew and grant us a fresh experience of your power and a new faithfulness to your word, that by our renewed witness your Holy name may be glorified and the fruits of the Spirit may be evident in our lives.
At this crucial point in the pandemic Lord we pray for our government and those in positions of power that they may put aside Party differences and work as one. Pray for wisdom, unity and integrity as their burdens threatens to overwhelm them.  We pray for our Scientists working tirelessly to find a vaccine for Covid19. Pray that the current tests being carried will lead to a successful outcome quickly.

Father may all those who have lost loved ones, many unable to say goodbye, be comforted by experiencing your healing presence. We remember too all those still in hospital and unable to see their families. Please keep them in your loving arms.

As our schools prepare for a return, pray for heads and staff trying to make their schools safe and for parents unsure and worried about the children going back. Guide and protect them Lord.

We give thanks Lord for those who go the extra mile, our NHS staff and workers, Social care workers, food banks and others reaching out to help those in need, residential homes staff, supermarket staff, refuse collectors and many more.  Pray for their protection and stamina.

Creator God, name above all names, we stand in awe of you. We praise you for your wonderful creation. The seasons in their varied colours and the value of earths resources. Help us to act responsibly in conserving it for the good of all.

Father it is difficult for us not to be anxious, we put our trust in you, our loving Father. Keep us in your care.  Amen.
